That's what's been going on around here lately. Every free minute he has- he is on the golf course. Some weeks he has three golf matches! I am fortunate enough that I am able to go shoot pictures of him when he plays at Bull Shoals.

GOLF

Jacob is the youngest golfer on the school golf team. Of course, they only have three boys and two girls. He had two golf matches last week, and he has three this week! I got to go watch him play today at Bull Shoals and take pictures. I kinda enjoyed it. I don't understand golf; but enjoy being where he is and taking pictures.

It was HOT and HUMID today. He has to walk the course. I had a cart...he drove it in after he finished his last hole.

District Track & Field

Jacob had a track and field event today at Mtn. View. It was the district meet. This is a new thing for us. Jacob absoultely loves it. We didn't do so well, but we are getting there. Our 7th grade boys/girls are competing against 9th graders!
Doing the shot put. He threw 31 feet and 7 inches. NOT bad!

Tonight was the end of track season. It's been great experience and good excercise!

Basketball

Monday night was our first basketball game. We lost to ICC 21-16. We could have played better. Maybe next time! Tuesday night was soccer, we tied. So far...busy week.

Red/White Game

We kicked off the basketball season tonight by having a red/white game with all the teams. This was something new. The kids had a great time. Our first game is next Monday night. Can't wait. LOVE basketball.
I have trouble getting good basketball shots. Jacob shooting free throws..he missed both!

Soccer Time..

Well...it's that time of the year...it's SOCCER season! My boys (this includes Roger) LOVE soccer. I love this time of the year. We had our first soccer game last night and another game tonight. Roger has always coached Jacob in soccer. We knew NOTHING about soccer 13 years ago when Michael started. But we soon learned the game and came to love it. It's a great activity and the kids get alot of exercise. I sure couldn't run up and down the field like they do. We have a great group of kids that play and alot of them have grown up playing together.

We will sure miss our older son playing soccer this year. His high school coach asked about him today.

Jacob is kinda under the weather this evening...he got a flu shot today.

Friday Night Baseball

We traveled to Bakersfield, MO tonight for our travel team baseball games. (We played two games). The weather was P E R F E C T!! I was wrapped up in a towel the last game trying to keep warm...if I'm cold...you know its cool outside. The PERFECT weather for baseball. The games ... well they did NOT go so well! We lost BOTH games...by a bunch of points! We did not play well at all. Jacob played all over the field tonight....pitcher, second base, third base...had a couple of good hits.

What a game..

We played the other Flippin baseball team tonight. AND man, what a game! We won..4-5! They have beat us both times when we scrimmaged them. Jacob pitched two innings tonight. They came together as a team and played well. They all went to the batting cages at Mtn. Home before the game....think that helped some. Nothing like Saturday night baseball...love the summers. My mom came up to watch him play. He loves it when he has fans! Big brother was missing in action tonight! :(

Baseball..

We won our game last night. The coaches (his dad & friend) changed things up a little. J was catcher last night. He usually plays 1st base or pitches. Makes him no difference where he plays. I love taking pictures of him being catcher...don't know why...just do...the following are a few shots that I took.
* WE went to the movie tonight to see the new Disney Pixar movie "UP". It was good. We met some friends there with their girls and J took some friends. BUT you wanna know what the best part was? Michael went with us!!! He was NOT embarrased to be seen with his mamma and daddy! His girlfriend had to work tonight, so he decided to go with. He couldn't have made his mamma happier. I love that kid! NOW, he wouldn't get in the group picture that I took of the kids! :(

Michael has been at all of his games so far. He was COLD...can you believe its the end of May and we are having to sit covered up in blankets! Big brother...THANKS for supporting little brother! It means more to him than you will EVER know! YOU are going to be so missed next year!

Last soccer game EVER...

Well tonight was Michael's last high school soccer game! We had our last game tonight against Eureka Springs. We lost 3-1. It was a sad night for me. This will be the last time he will play high school soccer. Michael has played soccer since he was 4 years old. WE didn't know a thing about soccer when he first started playing. But started learning very quickly. Roger has coached soccer for alot of years now, started the soccer program here, and is a certified referee, so we've come a long way in 14 years. It is the first LOVE in our house. You better like soccer if you are gonna hang around us. Michael did play basketball (until 10th grade) and baseball (until 8th grade), but his heart has always been with soccer. We have traveled many many miles with this sport and with this boy. We are so going to miss seeing him play. This is a chapter this will close in our lives forever. We are so proud of him! He has given 110% on the field, been so dedicated, and has shown so much leadership and sportsmanship on the field. I hate that we lost this game...but I'm glad that the weather held out and we got to play our last game.
Son, congratulations on a job well done....... you've made this BOBCAT mama proud!!

ONE point losses!

I missed my first pee wee basketball game of the season! Both boys had sport activities on Friday night. Roger and I went to Gentry to watch Michael play soccer. My mom came up and picked Jacob up from school and got him to his basketball game Friday night. She spent the night with us, we didn't get home from Gentry until about 11:00 pm. (Thank you mom!) Both boys suffered losses AGAIN! Michael had a good game, but we got beat
1-2. Gentry is a good team. Jacob's pee wee team got beat 18-17. I just hate missing a game.

On Saturday, we went to Branson to have Michael's birthday dinner that he has been waiting on since March 10. His girlfriend, Alex, went with us. He picked the restaurant. We went to Olive Garden. He LOVES Olive Garden, I HATE it! But I sucked it up today. Plenty of food, and I must say, it was good. NOT going to be my first pick of places to eat though. We came home and I started baking goodies for the G/T bake sale tomorrow. It's been another busy weekend.

NOT a good sports night...

Well, I have missed my first soccer game of the season. Michael played soccer tonight at Huntsville. I'm sure not one to miss a soccer game! I hate having to make a choice! I don't like to miss any activities. But I will have several of those choices to make as this season goes on...I believe I have six game conflicts with soccer and pee wee basketball!! :( Jacob had a pee wee basketball game tonight at Flippin. So Roger went to Michael's soccer game and I stayed with Jacob. Both boys lost their games. Roger said the soccer game was good. Jacob's game, did NOT turn out very pretty! I won't even post that score. We got beat by Harrison. I don't have any pictures to post of the losses tonight. I cam-corded Jacob's game so Roger could watch it. And Roger certainly didn't take any soccer pictures...he won't take pictures or camcord...he is their to watch! We are back in action again with both boys Friday night....pee wee basketball in Flippin; soccer at Gentry!

New Soccer Shoes = Soccer Game!!

On Friday Jacob got new socccer shoes. Jacob had ordered them a week earlier at the Lockeroom. His other soccer shoes were worn out. Now, we are ready for some soccer!

On Saturday we went to Maumelle to play in a Jamboree. The kids played 4 half games. The weather was NASTY for the first game. It was misting rain, and COLD! We won the game!
Jacob played goalie the last game. He played forward the other games. We lost the last three games. On the third game, it was 0-0, and the other team scored right as the whistle blew! It wasn't raining the last three games. We enjoyed our day of soccer.

For lunch we went to Firehouse Subs. We have fallen in love with this place. It is steamed subs. The majority of the soccer kids and parents ate there. I took a "team" picture with them all in the fire hats, but I won't post the picture because I don't know how other parents would feel about that.

Michael left Friday for Russellville for a church youth rally. He made it home today. We missed him this weekend.

Just finished watching the NASCAR race...my man, Jeff Gordon finished second! Sure do wish that he could win him a race!!
