Been Awhile...

It has been awhile since I've blogged. Things have just been so crazy. Maybe they will slow down some. March is always a busy month. Two guys with birthdays. Here are a few pictures of some March happenings..nothing too exciting...
Jacob packing for an EAST conference. He was gone for 3 nights. Talk about LONESOME and QUIET around this house. OH MY GOODNESS! I don't even want to think what life will be like when he leaves home for college~
Roger is an excellent cook! But NEVER cooks, because I get home earlier than him during the week. He made homemade pizza one night, and it was delicious!Roger had a birthday on the 6th. We went to Branson and ate. On your birthday - you get to pick where you want to eat...if someone doesn't like it - too bad! It's your day. We ate at Texas Land and Cattle...I dont' eat steak, but I did eat the dessert below!
The birthday dessert~! YUM - O!
Then on the 10th - this young man turned 20. Simply can NOT believe that he is 20. WOW!
Found this saying that I thought was so appropriate - I don't know who it is by -
A CHILD ENTERS YOUR HOME AND MAKES SO MUCH NOISE FOR 20 YEARS THAT YOU CAN HARDLY STAND IT, THEN DEPARTS LEAVING THE HOUSE SO SILENT! So true.
Michael wanted to eat his birthday dinner at Texas Land and Cattle also- so the next weekend, we headed back.
Birthday boy and his momma! HAPPY BIRTHDAY.
These boys came by for a visit.
The weather was so nice, we built a pit fire- had friends over and roasted marshmallows, and made smores. I LOVE evenings like this!
My folks came up and we had a birthday dinner celebration for Michael. Seriously, 20 candles
Family picture with the birthday boy.

Michael and Roger played a little basketball with Jacob.
A little brotherly love....love these moments...for a 6 year difference in age, boys really are close.
Roger and Jacob working on some Washington, DC details for spring break!
Trees starting to bloom at school...so ready for some warm weather...

  1. I seriously can feel you in this post. I've been there. Those are some special days. I told David ahead of time that I was going to be very lonely when the house was quiet. I knew he would still have the farm (where he loves to spend his time)... but my life had revolved my kids and their activities for so long I didn't know what I would do with myself. You will notice that silence a lot more at first... then you'll begin to actually like it (on occasion).

I don't think my boys would ever pile up like that!! That's adorable!!

Did y'all go to DC this week while you were on spring break????

  2. Jacquie-the connection we share with our boys is simply amazing. Like you - my world has revovled around them. Yes, we did go to Washington, DC during spring break. I am trying to go through 700 pictures and pick some to blog about. It gives me a headache.ha
I've done nothing but sleep and laundry since we have been back. We had a wonderful time. Michael and I went 10 years ago, the whole family went this time..
