What we have been up too...

Need I say more????? Basketball season is upon us! Already played 3 games, won all 3. Have 3 games this week.... that's our life right now...

And I wouldn't trade it for anything....

15 Years Old...

Seriously, can't believe that my baby is 15 years old.
Saturday night, we went to Branson to Texas Land and Cattle for Jacob's birthday dinner. That's where he wanted to go. And it was YUMMY!

Today we had family/friends for a birthday lunch at home. He had a golf birthday cake.

Aunt Mel came today for the birthday dinner. We were so excited that she got to come spend some time with us!!!

Thanks for coming Aunt Mel! We love you!!!

Weekend...

It was another busy weekend around here. On Sunday - Jacob had a soccer game in Mtn. Home....so we played soccer for about 40 minutes, then it started raining and lightening...so we had to stop...more soccer this Saturday! We are playing three sports right now~ soccer, golf, and basketball!

It was "family" day at U of A on Saturday. So that's where we were! We have been every year. Just a day to spend with your child. Michael's fraternity had lunch (tacos) for us.

Got to meet his "house mom". This is new for the fraternity. She lives in the house with the guys and kinda looks out for them. I like that.

Went to the football game. Love the HOGS!

That's what's been going on around here lately. Every free minute he has- he is on the golf course. Some weeks he has three golf matches! I am fortunate enough that I am able to go shoot pictures of him when he plays at Bull Shoals.

GOOD BYE SUMMER

We said good-bye to summer this weekend. Bull Shoals Lake is so much a part of our summer. We all love the lake. It is so beautiful and clean. Michael was home for the weekend, so we spent time on the lake. It was PERFECT weather.

GOLF

Jacob is the youngest golfer on the school golf team. Of course, they only have three boys and two girls. He had two golf matches last week, and he has three this week! I got to go watch him play today at Bull Shoals and take pictures. I kinda enjoyed it. I don't understand golf; but enjoy being where he is and taking pictures.

It was HOT and HUMID today. He has to walk the course. I had a cart...he drove it in after he finished his last hole.

Survived!!

WELL...Jacob and I survived the first week of school! It was a very busy and exhausting week! Jacob hit the ground running with two golf matches. They sure didn't waste any time. His golf scores weren't very good. He is the youngest on the team; but spends alot of time on the golf course during his free time, trying to improve himself. Roger has been very busy at work. And I have just been trying to adjust to getting up early and putting in a full day of work. My day is never boring at work! Well it's time to get to bed and get ready for week two! Wish us luck! (I think this is my first post ever without a picture!

FRESHMAN

I can NOT believe that my 14 year old baby is a FRESHMAN in high school!
At Flippin School- we have three phases of school. Elementary (check), middle school (check), and high school! Jacob entered the doors today of high school. Our last phase of school!!!! YES, I am sad!

I think someone is happy that someone else is home! LOVE seeing this!

Peas

I shelled and shelled and shelled a bushel and half of purple hull peas ... ALL BY MYSELF!!!! It took me two days! Got them from Mt. Pleasant. I LOVE purple hulls peas. Several of my girlfriends had never heard of them! Really???

23 Years..

Saturday, August 6 was our anniversary. We have been married 23 years! It's hard to believe that I have been married to my best friend that long. What an amazing man I have. I am BLESSED.

We went to Branson to eat. We have always wanted to try this Fish House down on The Landing...so that is where we ate. It was pretty good.

It was a terribly HOT day. We shopped (tax free weekend)- I'll NEVER EVER do that again. The crowds were horrible. Jacob went with us, because he wanted to shop. Bless his little heart, he got a burger before we got to the Landing and didn't eat with us...he shopped on the Landing while we ate. Then I received a text from Michael about 5:00 pm that night saying he was thinking about coming home. He DID. He arrived home around 10:30 pm. THAT IS THE BEST GIFT- for my family to all be together. He is in for the week. We LOVE having him here! 23 YEARS...Amazing!

FLORIDA 2011

I really thought I would do better at blogging during the summer time! But it just hasn't happened. We have been home for one week from vacation and I have gone NON stop. This is the first opportunity that I have had to use the laptop. Jacob has flat kept me hopping. He has had basketball camps, tournaments, golf and been working. He is one busy teenager.
Vacation was good..it rained one day on us. We made the most of it and played in the rain. I enjoyed spending time with my family. We had Michael with us for over a week. It was nice.
We left on a Friday after Roger and Jacob got off work. Stopped in Jonesboro and saw the grandparents. Just didn't get to spend long enough with them.
