Random..

Just some random updates from the last week. I haven't been home any night, to be on the computer.
Michael came home last weekend! WHOOT WHOOT! (Didn't see him this weekend, I know, SHOCK! BUT - I have to go to Fayetteville on Tuesday AND Thursday for a workshop= so guess I'll HAVE to have lunch with him!)
The truck was pulled in the back yard for all the snow we had. So Jacob pulled it around to the front-I was in the truck with him...I told him to drive onto Wal Mart to get some gas. He was like, "seriously"...I said "sure". NO -he does NOT have his drivers permit. He did pretty good. Don't know if my nerves can handle another teenage driver. He hasn't asked to take his driving test, and I haven't pushed it! He has been 14 since October!
Our jr boys basketball season ended Tuesday night! :-( We played at Yellville on Monday and Tuesday night in the District Tournament. What an awesome game our boys had. We played Melbourne - boys played their hearts out, but we ended up not winning. So we will take a little basketball break and start up baseball!
This is a pile of the snow at our school...70 degrees this week and it was still like this on Wednesday!
Jacob had quiz bowl in Green Forrest today. We won 2nd place overall (one question away from winning FIRST). He did awesome! Our team qualified to go to state competition - so next Saturday it's off to Bauxite for some more competition! Wanna feel stupid - go to a quiz bowl competition. Good grief! I know some ... but there is ALOT I don't!
After quiz bowl, we went to Branson, did a little shopping, and ate at Red Lobster. We have had a good day. :)

Play day..

I got to be Jacob's snow buddy today. Man, we missed Michael and daddy today on this gorgeous "play day". Got the 4-wheeler out - I drove and pulled Jacob on the sled. Hey, we BOTH survived. LOL. We had a fun time. Then we threw snowballs at each other...Jacob plays too rough for me...

Jacob riding the 4 wheeler on our road.
He got a funnel cake maker for Christmas. We never have made a funnel cake...he has been after me and after me to do this...so today...we made funnel cakes. I must say YUM-O!
No school for the kids tomorrow. Teachers have inservice. So I am off to bed so I can be ready for work tomorrow.

TIRED OF THE SNOW..

This is what we woke up to this morning!

The roads in Flippin. They usually do an awesome job clearing our roads...it snowed ALL day, so I guess they decided there wasn't any use in trying to clear them..

Jacob measured 7 inches of snow in our front yard. (Michael had 18 inches in Fayetteville)
Time for a little sledding....
Roger didn't make it to work today. We went to the city park and went sledding...
Jacob....
This child looks soooo much like Michael - it's scary!

Eating a little snow..
Snow Angel..
It is very pretty snow but as far as I am concerned...the SNOW can leave. I am ready for spring!

SNOW SNOW .. GO AWAY!

All I can say is... snow snow PLEASE go away. I am so tired of the weather. Bring on my summer lake weather. We are already into making up 4 school days. We have 5 built in days. (Once those are used, we start taking away from spring break!) That is not going to work for me! We are going to Washington, DC during spring break and airline tickets are already purchased. Guess we will cross that bridge when the time comes. If we miss school during the week, and go on a Friday then we go on Saturday. So far we have only had one Saturday school. We were suppose to have gone yesterday...but the "weather" did NOT allow that.
On Friday around 1:00 is started snowing. We all just knew we would get out early.
It continued to snow. While other surrounding schools let out early, we hung in there and made it until 3:00.

By the time we got home around 3:45- this is what it was looking like outside our house.

By 5:30 - this is what it looked like~I think we ended up getting like 5 inches at our house. When I went to school Friday morning; I had NO idea it was suppose to do this. Nor did Roger.
He drove the car to Harrison, but made it home safe and sound. Weather couldn't keep up off the roads (we ended up going out to eat at Bull Shoals Friday night).

Jacob catching some snowflakes!
Saturday- we thought we would head to Fayetteville and see Michael. We weren't sure how the roads were, but decided to give it a try. It's been almost a month, since I've seen Michael- he was sick, and needed "food supplies" and couldn't get his truck out of the parking lot! So mom/dad to the rescue~ roads were fine....we went out to eat- his choice- Outback Steakhouse and to Wal Mart to buy stuff. (I didn't get a picture of him- can't believe it either!)
Sunday has been a lazy day getting ready for Superbowl - good food and friends!
Jacob worked on making a photobook for his "honey" for Valentine's day. I was just going to do it for him (since he is a boy and all) but he wanted to do it himself. I was excited. Can''t wait to see t he finished product...afraid it won't make it in time for Valentine's day..but I guess..better late than never....
